Far Eastern Books established in 1976 in Canada is a leading publisher and distributor of books, periodicals and multi-media resources in first language and in dual language editions. We exist to fulfil the needs of new and changing diasporas seen in multi-lingual classrooms and communities in North America and Europe.
First language Resources
We offer a ONE STOP SOLUTION to clients’ needs for books in the first language from the Southeast Asian countries and the Far East including languages like, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, English, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Mandarin, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu languages. We stock and distribute resources published by over 800 publishers. Romanized transliteration slips are included with each book. For additional charge, we offer book processing services for the Indic language resources including MARC records, Spine Labels, Bar Codes, Date and Library Stamp.

Home language status is enhanced in bilingual versions of the bestsellers, such as The Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear …. All books contain high quality illustrations and cover a wide range of genres and ages. We work closely with schools, libraries, families, and charitable organizations to help select the most appropriate resources to support multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment and assist readers and language learners of all ages and levels.
The Bilingual Talking Picture Dictionary is a best-selling reference book, while the I Feel Series is about feelings and emotions in moving home. The Sunita series represents second generation life in the West.

All dual language books, posters, stickers and cards are sound enabled. They play back audio narrations or music, and readers can also record their own voice on every page. Being the largest distributor of dual-language books, listening as well as reading books in one's home language and another language helps language development in many bilingual parents, children, families and communities around the globe.
